Backstage Update On How Sunday’s Evolution PPV Is Being Perceived
WWE held their first ever all women’s Pay-Per-View Evolution this past Sunday. The event had faced some criticism due to the lack of advertised and marketing that WWE had put into the event leading up to it and the correlation between Evolution and the fact that female Superstars are not being allowed to travel with the company to Saudi Arabia and perform this week.
However, the event overall appeared to be a success as most fans received the show well. Many have even stated that the Last Woman Standing match between Becky Lynch and Charlotte is a potential match of the year candidate.
In a new report from our friend Brad Shepard, he states that a source within WWE has said to him that regarding Evolution that, “The real victory is in all of the camera shots of little girls cheering in the crowd. The audience was made up of a lot of potential new fans. Even girls who aren’t into wrestling per se watched the show. So, they do have something there.”
