The Miz is one of the best heels currently in WWE. He was very close in winning the World Cup at WWE Crown Jewel but he slipped on the outside, which prevented him from competing.
Miz was supposed to face Ziggler at the finals, but WWE wrote him off due to injury so that Shane McMahon could take his place in the most ridiculous fashion and win the World Cup, that just left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth.
On the latest audio update of PW Insider Elite, Dave Scherer discussed what had happened at Crown Jewel and how the storyline might lead to Miz turning into a babyface soon enough. This is what he said:
“The Miz wanted to continue because he quote ‘couldn’t get up’ or whatever so something’s going to happen with Shane-O Mac, maybe they’ll turn Miz babyface, we’ll see. But these things happen on the Network so they’re going to carry over on the storyline to television.”
The last time Miz was a babyface, it was really not received well and just didn’t fit. But now Miz is a huge star and has the respect of wrestlers and fans alike. So a face turn this time around might just work out. But it is still unsure how well it would be executed, owing to Miz’s moveset being more heel-oriented.
We will have to wait and see what comes of this.
