Apollo Crews had honed his craft in the indies and developed a diverse moveset. But it was mostly unused in NXT and even more so once he made his jump to the main roster. After breaking away from Titus O’Neal, he working with a new gimmick on Raw as The Human Highlight Reel.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Crews’ gimmick, stating how WWE is still trying to give him a shot. This is what he said:
“So the gimmick is they’re going to push him as ‘Raw’s Highlight Reel’ so that’s his new nickname. So that’s the idea is watch Apollo Crews do cool moves — and he can do cool moves. You know he did several of them here. So that’s what he did. He did a standing moonsault […] that’s pretty much it.”
We will have to wait and see if Apollo gets any proper development.
