At WWE Crown Jewel, Braun Strowman was the favourite to win the Universal title, which was a long time coming. Fans couldn’t wait to see The Monster Among Men get his hands on the gold. But that didn’t happen.
Brock Lesnar decimated Braun Strowman with 5 F5s to beat him and become a 2-time champion. But one must not forget that before the match started, Baron Corbin hit Braun on the head with the Universal Title. Add to that, he kicked out of 4 F5s which is a huge feat.
On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez discussed the booking at WWE Crown Jewel and said how WWE are planning to build Braun the same way they did Roman Reigns, despite not having much time. This is what he said:
“Clearly this was not a burial of Braun Strowman. The idea was to show you how much of a monster Braun Strowman was it took that much to finally beat the guy.”
Whether this will result in a proper booking for Braun is something we’ll have to wait and see.
