REPORT: Ronda Rousey Didn’t Find Having A Title Necessary Just As Roddy Piper Didn’t
Ronda Rousey, after joining WWE, would soon capture the RAW Women’s Title. But she didn’t necessarily need it, according to her. She spoke to The PWI Podcast, where she revealed how when she first met Vince McMahon, she said she didn’t need a title because she has as she described it: “Truthful Tourette’s.”
Once she began talking about winning the RAW Women’s title, this is what she said:
“Honestly I was extremely surprised because I was reserved to thinking, ‘Like, I would like to never win the title. Like, I don’t need it. I don’t need it, Rowdy Roddy Piper didn’t need it.’ You know, I was totally cool with it but yeah, a lot of these decisions are not up to me and if the company thinks that I am used I am used in my best capacity as their champion right now then I will do that job as great as I can do as long as they need me to do it.”
Perhaps she doesn’t need a title since she’s such a huge star, transitioning from MMA to WWE. But it sure does help in gaining popularity with fans.
