WWE Reportedly No Longer Building Towards Shane McMahon Vs. Daniel Bryan At WrestleMania
A new WWE Champion was crowned one this past Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown LIVE, as Daniel Bryan was able to defeat AJ Styles in the Main Event of the broadcast. However in the process we saw Daniel Bryan turn heel, after using a low blow during the match to give him the edge and the opening to lock in the “yes lock” for the submission, following the match Bryan’s heel turn kicked into another gear as he proceeded to repeatedly kick and stomp away at the head of AJ Styles.
In wake of Daniel Bryan’s victory over AJ Styles, a change was made to the Champion vs. Champion match at Survivor Series, as we will now see Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan instead of Styles.
Earlier in the broadcast, WWE teased more between Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon, as the two were involved in a heated backstage argument which resulted in Bryan being removed from the Survivor Series Team and also placed into the Championship Main Event on SmackDown, which he won. It appeared that we were seemingly in store for a program between Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon coming, but that now no longer appears to be the case.
According to the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, regardless of the fact that WWE appeared to tease a future match or program between Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon, Dave Meltzer noted that he was told that Bryan vs. McMahon is no longer the direction that WWE is going.
We will keep you updated when we hear more regarding Daniel Bryan, Shane McMahon, or WrestleMania 35.
