WWE Botches Who Was Supposed To Win Survivor Series Kickoff Show Match
As we saw last night at Survivor Series, it was announced that RAW won all of their matches, having a “clean sweep” of SmackDown LIVE.. however, as many fans have noted SmackDown LIVE won the tag team elimination match on the pre-show kickoff.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, RAW was actually supposed to win every match of the night including the tag team survivor series elimination match during the kickoff pre-show. For some reason that obviously didn’t happen, so apparently WWE just decided to say that the match didn’t count and just ignore SmackDown’s win on the preshow.
Regarding the “clean sweep” situation from last night’s Survivor Series, Meltzer said:
“So here’s the deal, okay? The storyline was supposed to be a clean-sweep for Raw and somewhere in the communications process, don’t as me why, SmackDown won that tag match so they had to tell everyone that it didn’t count.”
“That was the reason. One hand forgot what the other was doing. Vince wanted a clean-sweep and I don’t know how this happens, so yeah, it didn’t count.”
