As we have previously reported, former WWE Champion AJ Styles is currently in negotiations to renew his contract with WWE.
After losing the WWE Title last week on SmackDown to Daniel Bryan, Styles was removed from the Survivor Series PPV as Daniel Bryan went on to wrestle Brock Lesnar in a champion vs champion matchup. After the change was made there was nothing announced for Styles as he was left of the Survivor Series PPV, and was not present backstage for the event in Los Angeles on Sunday.
What is next for AJ Styles? Who knows, but it appears as though we won’t find out on tonight’s episode of SmackDown LIVE, as it has been reported that AJ will not be present in LA for tonight’s TV tapings. According to Joseph Peisich of Barn Burner, he says that he was told that AJ Styles has been given the week off and that he will not be in Los Angeles tonight for SmackDown.
“I don’t believe we’re going to see AJ Styles. I believe he was told to take the week off.”
We will keep you updated if we hear anything more regarding AJ Styles or tonight’s SmackDown LIVE tapings from Los Angeles.
