Asuka would win the battle royal on this week’s Smackdown live, getting a spot in the triple threat TLC match for the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship at WWE TLC. Fans do wonder for what reason she was even included in the first place.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez discussed the reasons for Asuka’s inclusion. He said one of the biggest reasons was so that Becky Lynch could take it easy in the ring, as she was just recently cleared from a concussion.
“Who knows what kind of condition Becky is in and they’re putting her in a match with tables, ladders, and chairs coming off of a concussion. I mean it’s very possible that the reason Asuka’s even in the match is so that she and Charlotte can carry the load here and not put Becky at risk.”
It’d be for the best if Becky does take it easy and lets Asuka and Charlotte Flair put on a clinic. But naturally, Becky should be the one to come out on top in the end.
