Update On John Cena’s Return To TV & How WWE Changed Their Plans
John Cena’s return to WWE TV was first reported by our friends over at Ringside News, but it appears as though this might have been a change from what the company had originally planned.
John Cena previously mentioned that he would be back for some WWE House shows, and mentioned that he would be in Baltimore on December 28th. Since then it was announced that Cena would be making appearances on both RAW & SmackDown LIVE, both events are being taped ahead of time and WWE will be taping RAW in Detroit on the same night. Currently Cena is still being advertised or the Baltimore show on the 28th.
John Cena’s TV and House Show returns was discussed on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Live, and Bryan Alvarez commented on the situation.
“This one’s interesting, so John Cena did an interview about two weeks or so and he said, ‘I’m coming back only for house shows. I’m not wrestling any TV dates. Then Vince McMahon shows up on TV and says, ‘Oh, John Cena, he’s coming back to RAW and SmackDown!’ So everybody thought he’s returning. Well, it looks like he’s returning for a RAW and a SmackDown. Then he’s gonna go and make movies again.”
So it appears as though John Cena’s return to WWE TV will not be for long, as he will be returning to film another movie following his appearances.
