The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE originally planned for Ronda Rousey to face Natalya at Wrestlemania 35. However, both Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch were injured. On top of that, Natalya’s father Jim Neidhart passed away.
This would make WWE cancel Natalya’s heel turn and much more apparently. It is noted that many backstage were in favor of Natalya’s heel turn regardless. However, it did not matter to Vince McMahon.
So even though we didn’t see the match at Wrestlemania, at least we got to see it on RAW.
