New Competition Over Talent Causes NJPW To Change The Way They Do Business
This is indeed a very interesting and wild time for the world of Professional Wrestling, as the free agent frenzy to sign some of the top talent appears to be changing the way promotions handle their business.
It seems as though every year around this time there is a mad scramble to lock up talent. Dave Meltzer spoke about this on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that NJPW’s re-signing of Juice Robinson to a three year deal appears to be a sign that the company is changing the way they do business.
Meltzer said:
“New Japan by signing him a three-year deal means they’re changing the way they do business which they have to do now. Because it’s ridiculous every year to have this situation where all of their guys can go so they’re signing everyone to multi-year deals.”
We will keep you updated if we hear anything more regarding any free agent signings or re-signings.
