NJPW Champion Re-Signs With Company Despite Interest From WWE
Juice Robinson regained the IWGP United States Championship after defeating Cody Rhodes at Wrestle Kingdom 13. Many will remember Juice from his time with WWE in NXT where he was known under the ring-name CJ Parker.
Juice never really had a chance to shine in NXT, but has really come into his own since joining NJPW. So much so that according to a new report from Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE was once again interested in signing for the now 2 time IWGP US Champion. However, it appears as though Juice will remain with NJPW for another 3 years after re-signing with the company.
Regarding WWE’s interest in Juice Robinson, Meltzer said:
“Juice just signed a three-year deal with New Japan. That’s another key guy. WWE was not… he was not talking to WWE. I know that WWE was interested, but there was no talking as best I could tell. In fact, I know. All Elite obviously wanted him.”
