Chris Jericho Removed From WWE’s Opening Video After Signing With All Elite Wrestling

Chris Jericho shocked the wrestling world yesterday when he appeared at the end of the All Elite Wrestling Double or Nothing Rally outside of the TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida and officially announced that he was “ALL IN with All Elite.”

AEW later shared a video of Jericho’s contract signing with the company. Jericho was once again able to keep the wrestling world guessing and kept his appearance a surprise after declaring that he wanted to challenge Hiroshi Tanahashi for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship following his match with Tetsuya Naito at Wrestle Kingdom 13.

It had also been reported that Jericho had been in talks with WWE about a possible return to the company as recently as last week prior to NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 event. Jericho’s decision to sign with AEW apparently rubbed WWE the wrong way, as the company immediately removed the former WWE Superstar from their video package that they air before their television programs.

A fan on twitter noticed Jericho’s absence from the video package that WWE airs before SmackDown LIVE (and all their TV programs) and posted the evidence to twitter. You can see the photo below.

Interesting enoughly we also reported yesterday how numerous fans had claimed to have been turned away at the door, and when walking up to the box office to purchase tickets at the venue, for wearing All Elite Wrestling merchandise. It was later said that the report was a hoax perpetrated by a couple of employees at Pro Wrestling Tees to stir up more buzz over merchandise.

However we later posted a video of a fan approaching security asking for an explanation of why he was turned away and forced to change after seeing fans now being admitted into the venue wearing AEW gear. The security guard explains that the originally were NOT allowing fans into the building, but that the company had changed their mind and now were. He apologized to the fan for having to change and the hassle, but was unable to provide any explanation as to reasoning for the decision.

We will keep you updated of the interesting rivalry already seemingly brewing between WWE and All Elite Wrestling as it develops.
