Update On Billy Gunn’s Role With All Elite Wrestling
All Elite Wrestling made a big splash yesterday with the Double or Nothing Rally in Jacksonville, Florida. With the announcement that the company has signed Chris Jericho as well as former WWE Cruiserweight Champion PAC (formerly known as Neville in WWE) just to name a few, AEW seems to be heading in the right direction.
It was also revealed just prior to the start of yesterday’s Rally that AEW has hired former WWE Superstar Billy Gunn as the company’s first producer. Billy Gunn was in attendance in Jacksonville for AEW’s Double or Nothing Rally, but was not featured during the presentation.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discusses Billy Gunn’s presence yesterday in Jacksonville for AEW’s Rally. Meltzer commented and what Gunn’s role with the company might be.
Regarding Billy Gunn’s hiring by All Elite Wrestling, Meltzer said:
“Billy Gunn was at there, he wasn’t introduced or anything, but Billy Gunn was there. I don’t know if he’s going to necessarily wrestle, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him as an agent or something like that, that wouldn’t shock me.”
We will keep you updated if we hear more about what Billy Gunn’s duties and role with AEW will be.
