WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion in the world and it is doubtful that that will ever change. However, All Elite Wrestling might actually give some competition to WWE.
Chris Jericho spoke on Busted Open Radio, where he hoped that him signing with AEW meant that more WWE superstars would follow suit eventually. Here is what he said:
“By me joining the company I think fans and wrestlers most importantly go, ‘Holy sh*t this is real.’ Because if Jericho went there this is real. Because a lot of people don’t know Kenny or Cody or The Bucks. We know them, but your average fan doesn’t. Your guy in the WWE making a decent living, but thinks they can do better now knows, ‘Wow, Jericho can go there I can go there too.’”
We do not know how AEW will fare against WWE until time has passed. Until then, AEW will try all they can to get more talent and establish itself as a genuine competitor to WWE.
