When Chris Jericho appeared at the end of the AEW Double or Nothing Rally in Jacksonville and announced his signing with All Elite Wrestling, it didn’t take long for WWE to react to the news. as they removed Jericho from their opening video pack and moved him to their alumni section on wwe.com within hours after the announcement.
Jericho talked about his decision to sign with AEW on a recent episode of his Talk Is Jericho podcast. He talks about WWE’s decision to remove him from their promotional video and on their website.
He also revealed that he has signed a three year exclusive deal with All Elite Wrestling, with the exception of him working for New Japan Pro Wrestling. Which he added that he still needs to figure out.
Jericho said:
“I get that. It doesn’t bother me at all it’s the way it should be. Once again, we can all hold our heads up high and we did things the way it should be. No ill feelings, no ill will. No talking sh*t behind each other’s back. That might happen but not on my end.”
“I love the WWE. I respect the WWE. They go through ups and downs creatively and stylistic-wise. We don’t want to beat WWE that’s not the mindset. The mindset is to provide an option, an alternative to wrestling fans. Something you haven’t seen before and haven’t seen in a while.”
