The Revival’s Request For Release Confirmed & Could Possibly Result In Push
As we exclusively reported yesterday, WWE Superstars Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson – The Revival, asked for their release from the company Monday Night following their match on RAW against the Lucha House Party.
Our report was confirmed in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, adding that when The Revival asked for their release Monday Night, that they were still in their ring gear. Meltzer went on to expand on the situation with The Revival by speculating that the Revival asking for their release could actually end up helping them overall with their status in WWE.
Meltzer said:
“After their match with Lucha House Party on Monday, The Revival said that they wanted their release. They didn’t get it, but that’s what they asked. So we’ll have to see how this one plays out.”
“I will say that people in the company who I have spoken with today were kinda like, ‘They should have been quiet and worked and let their contract expire and just left.’”
“I’m skeptical right now that they’ll let them go. I mean look at… I don’t wanna use the term ‘held people hostage,’ but it’s kinda like my gut says when I use the word that’s kinda what they’ve done with other people and that was in a much less competitive environment whether it was Daniel Bryan and Rey Mysterio and there are others too.”
“Yeah so but as far as these guys go, time will tell. Monday night they asked for their release. Another thing is that guys who aren’t happy are getting pushes now and they’re one of them. It’s not a secret that when they were… I don’t think that it was incorrect speculation that when you read the tea leaves that they’re leaving for a lot of reasons for some certain moves that they made so I think at that point once that word was kinda out that’s when they started getting a push.”
“So they may not get buried, they may just try to keep them happy and have them not leave.”
We will keep you updated as more information regarding The Revival’s request to be released from their WWE contracts as it becomes known.
