Update On Rumors Of Dolph Ziggler Potentially Leaving WWE

WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler hasn’t been featured on WWE TV since he was on the receiving end of a brutal beatdown courtesy of Drew McIntyre, and there has been no mention of Ziggler since. He has recently changed his name on twitter from Dolph Ziggler to his real name Nic Nemeth, which has lead to some speculating that he could soon be on his way out of the WWE.

There have recently been a number of rumors and reports regarding Dolph Ziggler and his WWE Status and future with the company, and according to a report from PWInsider there is said to be talk that Ziggler is done with WWE after turning down a new deal which would have seen him begin working as a backstage producer.

PWInsider reported:

“There has been a lot of talk in the last week that Ziggler is done with WWE after turning down an offer to become a producer.”

There have been reports that Ziggler’s contract ends at the end of the month, with January 31st being the end date of his current deal, although we have yet to hear any confirmation of when his contract expires. On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentions that Ziggler is still currently under contract with WWE and that he has been working WWE Live event house shows.

He adds that WWE’s entire purpose for pushing Ziggler during his most recent run was meant to be a means to put Drew McIntyre over big, because he is the company’s choice for who is going to be their next top star. This could potentially be the reason that Drew McIntyre was used to replace Roman Reigns in the company’s official graphic.

Regarding Dolph Ziggler, Meltzer said:

“He’s working all the house shows. He hasn’t gone anywhere. It was like usual, that’s how it goes. Basically, he was there to get Drew McIntyre over that really was his role. Now they’ve broken them off then they’ve kinda lost interest in him.”

“I expect he’ll be in the Rumble and he’ll probably work a lot of minutes because he’s a good wrestler. As far as getting a big push… I see him getting a mediocre push from here on in.”
