Andrade Cien Almas had his named shortened, and has also received a push. It is no secret that he was unhappy with how he was being booked in the company. However, it seems that WWE has finally heard his appeal and started to push him properly.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that Andrade might have asked for his release and that resulted in his push. Here is what he said:
“Because I think that’s what happened with Andrade — I know it’s what happened with Andrade so it’s not like you get them mad and they’re gonna bury you.”
Andrade had a fantastic match against Rey Mysterio on this week’s Smackdown Live, where he defeated Rey in the match. Judging by how performance in the ring, it was obvious that Andrade was enjoying himself and it seems WWE’s plan is working.
Hopefully his push lasts a while and he gets a title run eventually.
