The pro wrestling world is going through a very interesting period currently, as it has basically become a free agent frenzy as companies are looking to lock down talent to exclusive contracts. With the launch of All Elite Wrestling, companies have been doing everything they can to sign up and lock down available talent.
In the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that WWE has made it clear that for certain talents, that they are willing to match or beat any offer that a talent receives from any other promotion. In some cases WWE is even willing to double the proposed offer if they can show on paper the deal that is on the table from another interested company.
Regarding WWE matching or beating any deal offered to a talent from another promotion, it was said:
“WWE has told people if you can show on paper an offer from another company, they’ll beat it, even double it on the spot provided you sign immediately.”
With WWE apparently losing some of the biggest free agents to hit the market in years to the upstart All Elite Wrestling, it seems as though they are willing to do whatever it takes to keep current talent, and potential new talent in house.
