WWE Superstars Who Have Requested Release Not Likely To Receive Them
We have been commented on this wild and crazy time that we are in currently in the wrestling world. The business is experiencing a boom that it hasn’t seen in many years. The launch of All Elite Wrestling and the signing of some of the top free agent talents out there to exclusive contracts, has in some ways already changed the landscape of professional wrestling before the company even holds their first event.
New Japan and Ring of Honor have also been locking down talents to exclusive deals, as more and more companies scramble to secure talent before anyone else signs them. It has even been reported that WWE is willing to match any deal made to a talent from an independent promotion, and in some cases will double the amount if the talent signs on the spot if proof of the offer can be presented.
We exclusively reported yesterday that former two-time NXT Tag Champs, WWE RAW Superstars The Revival, Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson requested their release from the company following their match against Lucha House Part on RAW Monday Night. Our report as since been confirmed, and even added that The Revival were still in their ring-gear when they asked to be released from the company.
News also broke yesterday that WWE Superstars Mike & Maria Kanellis had also recently requested their release after being unhappy with how they have been used since signing with the company.
A new report from Wrestle Votes notes that while both The Revival and Mike & Maria Kanellis have requested to be released from their WWE contracts, it is very unlikely that the company will grant them their requests. WrestleVotes said:
“Over the past few weeks WWE has looked into reworking some talent contracts, including offering some talent pay raises. With that said, WWE is not currently looking to lose ANY talent. Those requesting to be released are doing so at the wrong time.”

With WWE already reportedly going hard after free agents in efforts to block them from potentially signing with AEW, it is not likely that they would be willing to let any of their Superstars go so they could work elsewhere.
