What Promise Did WWE Make To The Revival After They Requested Their Releases?
As we were the first to report, WWE Superstars Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, The Revival requested their release from the company last week following their match on RAW. WWE has denied the two their release, however it’s being reported that promises were made from company officials instead.
According to a report in this week’s issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Revival have been told that they will now become the face of the WWE Tag Team Division. It has previously been reported that after being denied their release that Dash and Dawson might be in line for an upcoming push.
The Revival are said to be under contract with WWE through April of 2020, and have also been reported to be in line for a babyface turn, which appears to have already begun as the team has been booked sympathetically over the last few weeks. Their current storyline appears to have them being on the receiving end of bad calls and bad breaks, which it’s hoped will get the WWE Universe behind the two for their eventual face turn.
We have also reported that Dash Wilder filed for copyrights to the “#FTR” trademark which they have sported on the back of their gear in recent weeks as well. This was said to have been a preemptive measure for if they had been granted their releases, as they could have gone by the name “Forever The Revival” on the independent scene.
With the newly launched promotion All Elite Wrestling promising to be heavily focused on tag team wrestling, WWE is said to have promised their Tag Teams that they will be getting a lot more focus and television time going forward. It was noted that WWE’s promise to focus more on their tag division is a direct countermeasure to AEW’s promise of the same.
