WWE is reportedly going to focus more on the tag team division in the company. This might have to do with All Elite Wrestling promising to do the same. WWE promised The Revival that they will make them top team in the company for RAW, and now they are doing the same for Smackdown.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted WWE is also concerned about the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions. The New Day’s friendship with The Elite is no secret, as they have also taken part in a video game battle in the past.
Meltzer also noted that The New Day has wanted to work with The Young Bucks for many years and that could be why the tag team division is getting more focused on.
“AEW is logically going to use tag teams on top, rather than just taking up mid-level space, and that creates the grass is greener scenario for every WWE team, which makes The Revival situation make complete sense. WWE’s most popular gimmick team, The New Day, is already friends with the Young Bucks and have wanted to work with them for years.”
Anything is possible in the world of professional wrestling. Perhaps somewhere down the line, we might see the two teams compete in the ring. For now, WWE is trying their best to keep all their talents happy.
