Becky Lynch Punches Her Ticket To WrestleMania After Making A Surprise Entry Into Women’s Rumble Match

Becky Lynch challenged Asuka for the SmackDown LIVE Women’s Title to open the 2019 WWE Royal Rumble. Becky was unable to successfully recapture the belt however, as Asuka was able to hold off the challenge of The Man.

Lana came out as the #28 entrant into the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble match, but she could barely walk after injuring her ankle on the pre-show during the United States Title match. As she hobbled her way towards the ring, she was barely down the aisle when Nia Jax’s music hit at #29.

When Nia passed Lana, she stopped and turned around and proceeded to further attack the already injured Lana, completely laying her out. Nia made her way into the ring, and eventually we saw Carmella come out at #30. Before long, some excitement began to stir off camera, before finally cutting over to the aisle where WWE officials were attending to Lana.. revealing Becky Lynch who had made her way down and was making her case to replace the Lana in the match.

Eventually WWE Backstage Official Dave “Fit” Finlay agreed and Becky Lynch made her way into the Women’s Royal Rumble match as the final competitor. The end of the Women’s Rumble match was a very entertaining and well worked segment of the match, but in the end the final two came down to Charlotte Flair and “The Man” Becky Lynch.

After a back and forth sequence which saw a few close calls by both women, in the end Becky was able to eliminate Charlotte and win the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble match, punching her ticket to WrestleMania 35.
