The 2019 WWE Royal Rumble is hours away, as the road to WrestleMania officially kicks off tonight as the company invades Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. The Royal Rumble is always packed full of surprises and returns, and the status of a couple of WWE Superstars for tonight’s PPV appear to be clear.
It has been reported over the last couple weeks that Mike & Maria Kanellis have been said to be unhappy with their current situation in WWE, and there were conflicting reports that the two had asked for their release from the company. Maria later adamantly denied the reports, however their status in the company remains uncertain.
According to a report from PWInsider, Maria Kanellis is said to be backstage tonight in Phoenix for the Royal Rumble PPV. However, interesting enough her husband Mike Kanellis is not backstage for tonight’s Royal Rumble event.
It is not known if Maria will be making an appearance on tonight’s Royal Rumble PPV, or if she is just backstage as she has been said to be working her way back towards an in-ring return.
