Dean Ambrose set to walk away from WWE after WrestleMania?
Don’t believe everything you read, but there’s nothing like waking up to one of the biggest rumors to rock the wrestling world so far this year. News broke out early this morning that according to Wade Keller of PW Torch, Dean Ambrose had notified Vince McMahon face to face during Royal Rumble weekend that he would not be renegotiating a new deal with WWE, thus leaving the company shortly after WrestleMania 35 when his current deal is set to expire.
What could be the Lunatic Fringe’s next move if indeed the rumors are true about him leaving WWE? Ambrose’s decision could explain his rather lackluster and uninspiring Royal Rumble performance followed by losing clean to Seth Rollins on Raw last night.
Dean had been frustrated with his current role and character development over the past few months in the company and it just wasn’t about re-signing for a considerable pay raise, it was about being happy, something money can’t buy.
There’s no better time to be a wrestler than now because unlike a few years ago there are viable options for Dean to chose from, especially with the emergence of All Elite Wrestling backed by the Khan family’s billions of dollars, AEW may make the most logical destination for Ambrose. Other companies once considered long shots like ROH, NJPW, & even IMPACT Wrestling would definitely be in the running to sign him. It all just depends on what would make Dean Ambrose happy and creatively satisfied. If the rumor to this story is indeed true then would definitely send shock waves throughout the entire wrestling world. The ramifications are endless in WWE knowing that one it’s key members in the greatest factions of all- time and biggest cash cows they created in the Shield is set to walk away from the company and possibly “change the universe” with a rival promotion. It just doesn’t happen, it’s unheard of for the WWE in this era, but times are a changing in the world of pro wrestling and other wrestlers are waiting on baited breath.
