Drew McIntyre Talks Being More Than In His First WWE Run
Drew McIntyre has come a long way from his days as a member of 3MB. He returned to the WWE in 2017 and captured the NXT Championship before moving up to the main roster, where he’s been sitting near the top of the card on Monday Night Raw ever since.
He recently spoke to Wrestling Inc, where he revealed that his current run is different from his previous run in WWE as he is more mature now.
”What’s changed from my first stint is that I don’t take anything for granted. I’m a lot more mature and I don’t have negativity in my life. Partying isn’t as important to me anymore like it was when I was younger. I focus very much on the job and my goals and dreams.”
Drew admitted he didn’t know what he had until he lost it, so he regained that by going to NXT first.
”I had a lot of conversations with Triple H and I made it clear if I come back, I would like to go to NXT. You need those experienced leaders because that makes a difference in the product. NXT had lost a couple of people and I felt I could really make a difference going there.”
McIntyre ended it by saying that he would’ve done alright if he stayed with the company, but wouldn’t have matured the way he did by spending time in the indies.
”I think I would have done okay, but I don’t think I would be where I’m at. I certainly wouldn’t be as comfortable as I am now to get more opportunities.”
