KUSHIDA Wrestles Final Match With NJPW, Expected To Sign With WWE
As we previously reported NJPW Star KUSHIDA will be leaving the company at the end of the month. Today was officially KUSHIDA’s finally day with New Japan as he wrestled Hiroshi Tanahashi in last match with the company.
The non-title match between KUSHIDA and Tanahashi was said to be a really good contest, which lasted roughly 25 minutes. KUSHIDA did however lose the match, but he received an emotional farewell and send off afterward. KUSHIDA spoke to the crowd and said that he would never forget this night, he went on to thank the New Japan fans for their support.
There has not been an official announcement or statement from either WWE or KUSHIDA about reports that he is expected to sign with the company, fellow New Japan Star and Bullet Club member Tama Tonga recently tweeted that he would see KUSHIDA “soon in Florida.”
NJPW Legend Jushin “Thunder” Liger posted a photo of KUSHIDA and Tanahashi in the locker room sitting side-by-side post match. Liger included the caption which roughly translated to:
“What do they think of when they fight? This two-shot became my treasure. # Departure ☆”
