What Jeff Jarrett’s Role Will Be On WWE Television
WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett was a surprise entrant in this past Sunday’s Royal Rumble match when he entered in the number 2 spot and worked a nice spot with Elias to start the match.
It was reported yesterday that Jeff Jarrett had signed a contract with WWE and would be joining the company in the role of backstage producer, as well as serving an on-screen role when needed.
On last night’s episode of RAW Jeff Jarrett once again came out, this time interrupting Elias’ musical performance. Double J was accompanied by The Road Dogg, as the two sang “Be My Baby Tonight” and pandered to the crowd around the ring. Elias eventually had enough of this and proceeded to lay them out with guitar shots.
On a recent audio update via PWInsider Elite, Mike Johnson talked about how WWE is probably going to be using Jeff Jarrett from here out. While me might not be seeing Jarrett on TV every week, it does appear that he will be popping up from time to time.
Regarding Jeff Jarrett’s latest run with WWE, Johnson said:
“The crowd loved the Double J stuff, loved the Road Dogg stuff and I guess Jarrett when he shows up will be used as an undercard feel-good character. They used Elias to lay Jeff Jarrett and Road Dogg out, I get it. It’s no different than DX laying out Sgt Slaughter or somebody else to kinda get some heat on people that the fans care about. We’ll see what goes on here.”
