Dean Ambrose’s WWE Contract Could Be Frozen To Make Up Injury Time
Dean Ambrose suffered a triceps injury in 2017, which nearly killed him. He returned before Summerslam 2018, which was on the same night his wife Renee Young started her full-time RAW announcer role.
WWE has executed a deal in contracts of WWE superstars, where they have frozen contracts to make up for them being injured and missing work. The likes of Rey Mysterio and others had to go through this.
Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio noted that WWE might do the same with Ambrose, though it is unlikely.
“He’ll be a free agent in April, yeah but they could freeze him for nine months, right.”
“I don’t think they’ll be able to because they basically wrote themselves that he’s done in April. So to me that means if they did that they can’t freeze him because they basically just told you.”
WWE releasing a statement tabout Dean Ambrose not re-signing with the company certainly puts them in a precarious position. Now many more fans expect Ambrose to make his WWE exit after April.
We will have to wait and see what happens.
