Chris Jericho signed a 3-year deal with All Elite Wrestling and is now making the most money he has ever made in his career. He also has the freedom to work NJPW and do his Rock n Wrestling Ragers at Sea. His contract details were released to WWE and the locker room had different reactions to it.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that after knowing about how much money Jericho was making, superstars had different reactions, depending on who they were. Here is what he said:
”So in one of the things that happened I was actually told this a few days ago is that Jericho’s contract number went around the WWE locker room, yeah and a lot of people were stunned, freaked depending on your viewpoint.”
“That led to, again… when that number got out. Let me think about this. It’s not a John Cena number, it’s not a Brock Lesnar, it’s not a Ronda Rousey number… maybe it is, I don’t know. Something out there is real.”
We will have to wait and see what happens to AEW. After all, they have the momentum right now. It’s just a matter of time until they get a TV deal.
