As reported earlier, Sasha Banks is suffering from an injury. Still, she competed in the tag match on this week’s RAW that determined a spot in the upcoming Women’s Tag Team Title Elimination Chamber match.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Sasha Banks’ injury and explained why WWE had her work RAW this week. Here is what he said:
“Sasha Banks was not cleared so they did — usually when you’re not cleared they will not let you near the ring. In this case, you know she did basically nothing [in the match], but she actually isn’t cleared, but they felt like they had to do the tag to get the six teams in because they wanted all six teams in because the pay-per-view was only a couple weeks away so they needed the Bayley and Sasha Banks win.”
“The expectation is — and I don’t know the injury because for some reason with Sasha Banks’ injuries and I don’t know the answer as to why, for whatever reason we never find out what they are. Whereas everyone elses’s it’s not so hidden.”
“She is hurt, but she’s expected to be fine or at least wrestling on the pay-per-view in a couple weeks. So it’s not something — if it was something serious they would have subbed someone else in that match. So she is expected to be on the pay-per-view.”
Hopefully Sasha recovers in time for Wrestlemania. We will keep you updated on her status.
