As was previously reported, Dean Ambrose informed WWE that he is leaving the company when his contract expires in April.
There has been talk that AEW will be interested in bringing in Ambrose once he officially becomes a free agent, as one would expect. However, money is not really part of Dean’s motivation or reason for leaving WWE as he is said to be in good shape financially.
It is being said that the reason Dean Ambrose choose to leave WWE is due to frustration with creative. After informing the company of his intentions to exit WWE after his contract expires in April, there were a series of meetings held between the two parties over Royal Rumble weekend in hopes of changing Ambrose’s mind about leaving. Obviously his mind was not changed, as the company later acknowledged reports of Deans plans to leave.
When the notion that Ambrose was using interest from All Elite Wrestling as leverage for a larger paycheck from WWE was brought up, this was said to have only upset Dean more. It was also said that some within the company had believed this was his line of thinking, however it appears to not be the case at all.
