New Woman of Honor Champion Crowned at ROH Bound By Honor Miami
Mayu Iwatani defeated Kelly Klein to become the new Women of Honor World Champion at tonight’s Bound By Honor live event in Miami, Florida. Iwatani is currently signed to Stardom in Japan.
After defeating Sumi Sakai to become the WOH World’s Champion at the Ring of Honor Final Battle PPV in New York City last year, The Gatekeeper vowed to put her Championship on the line every time she stepped into the ring for a one- on-one match.
The Face of WOH had a hard-fought and successful title defense against former champion Sumie Sakai at Road to G1 Supercard: San Antonio last weekend, Klein demanded to face Mayu Iwatani in a Championship Match on Feb. 10 in Miami. Klein had beaten Japanese star in their only two previous meetings with Kelly beating Mayu in the Women of Honor Title Tournament Semi- Finals last April and the Stardom 5STAR Grand Prix last August, as well.
Perhaps, the leader of Camp Klein may have overlooked one of Stardom’s best stars in tonight’s WOH Championship Match, but there’s a saying that goes “be careful what you wish for” and on this night Mayu Iwatani had Kelly Klein’s number.
