Mustafa Ali had originally be scheduled to participate in Sunday’s Elimination Chamber match, however due to the concussion that Ali had suffered this past Sunday at a WWE Live event he was removed from the match by WWE officials.
Ali was replaced in the match by Kofi Kingston, and on this week’s episode of SmackDown LIVE a gauntlet match was held to see who would enter the chamber last. While he wasn’t successful in winning the match, Kofi did however wrestle for over an hour and impressed some people while doing it.
Wrestle Votes commented on Kofi Kingston’s performance in the gauntlet match on this past week’s episode of SmackDown and revealed that because of Kofi’s performance that he now has some momentum backstage. As we saw Kofi was way over with fans following the match, and apparently also with officials backstage.
Regarding Kofi Kingston, Wrestle Votes wrote:
“Hearing that the Kofi – Gauntlet story, with him being in the ring nearly an hour was the same story that was to unfold with Mustafa Ali.
