Paige On Fans Not Taking Women’s Wrestling Seriously

Fighting With My Family is a critical success and is also a hit at the Box Office. This wouldn’t have been possible without Paige’s journey to the WWE.

While promoting Fighting With My Family, Paige spoke to Gulf News. She revealed how fans did’t take women’s wrestling seriously.

“It was never WWE holding the women back. It was the fans not taking them seriously. They wanted to see more of the male characters many years ago. It was a male-dominated sport.”

“When I first started, there were only five women there. It was a struggle but WWE just believed in us. When I got into the ring, I wanted to prove to the fans that girls were capable of having good matches and sometimes, even better. That was kind of my mission from the get go. Now there’s obviously a revolution.”

Paige also talked about fighting depression, in the wake of her private photos and videos being leaked online.

“It just changed me because it made me stronger. It made me take out the toxic people and things out of my life and now I just look at it way more positively,” admits Paige. “I am very open about it now. I made a mistake and I can share it with people now… so I can help other people with my mistakes.”

After having been removed as Smackdown General Manager, it is unclear what Paige will do. We will have to wait and see what she does.
