Changes were made to RAW this week. One was due to Rollins. Apparently, Ricochet’s debut was supposed to be different.
Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that initially, Finn Balor was supposed to face off against Ricochet. However, Triple H decided not to have this match happen.
Triple H managed to get Vince McMahon to cancel the match as he didn’t like the idea of a babyface vs babyface match. He also thought that Ricochet shouldn’t lose his debut match on RAW, as Fin recently became IC Champ.
Since neither man could afford to lose, the plan was changed to a tag team match. While this doesn’t mean the two won’t face off eventually, it just didn’t happen this week.
