Aleister Black Says Goodbye To NXT
WWE has called up around 10 superstars from NXT this year. The first batch was: Lars Sullivan, Heavy Machinery, Nikki Cross, Lacey Evans and EC3. Then this past week came Ricochet, Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. Many people were wondering if these NXT guys were actually getting called up, or just here for one off appearances to heighten awareness for the yellow brand. It appears that the answers are being to become more clear.
Aleister Black was signed to NXT in 2016. He debuted for the brand in March of 2017. While on the brand he went undefeated for a while, quickly became the NXT champion and then was the catalyst in the Johnny Gargano heel turn. To say he has been the face of NXT for the past two years wouldn’t be a lie.
A phrase made popular by the Beatniks was “Nothing Ever Lasts”. This means that you should cherish something while it’s good cause it won’t be there forever, and to ride the storm when it’s bad because it will pass. Nothing ever lasts is also a phrase I like to use when referring to NXT talent. What is usually a very promising career with emotional high and low points on NXT, turn into a gamble when going to the main roster.
Plenty of talents have been ‘misused’ during their call-up, but some have flourished on Raw and Smackdown. Aleister looks to be headed for huge things on the main roster. Time will tell.
