NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa was among the four NXT superstars who were suddenly called up to the main roster. During a match on SmackDown Live, Ciampa took a bump as Sheamus fell on Ciampa’s knee. While he did work the match, he is apparently injured.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Tommaso Ciampa is currently injured. The extent of his injury is unknown, but that is apparently why he was not present on television this week. It was said that “he’s not okay.”
It is also said that Ciampa wanted to get this issue fixed following TakeOver: New York in his match against Johnny Gargano. So it seems that he was injured even before he was called up to the main roster.
It is noted that Tommaso Ciampa also is not scheduled for any events next week.
