Tommaso Ciampa Wanted To Take Time Off In Order To Heal Before Main Roster Call-Up
Tommaso Ciampa has been suffering from a neck injury for a few weeks and will now be requiring surgery. There was a plan for him to heal up before this was aggravated, apparently.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there was already a plan for Ciampa to take time off following NXT TakeOver: New York. Ciampa was dealing with the injury long before the main roster call up, but now all plans regarding him are scrapped.
“It was known that he was going to be out after WrestleMania and that was the idea that he was gonna work through, but I guess the situation in the last week must have gotten so bad that they just had to do the surgery now so he’s just pulled from everything.”
It is now a wonder what WWE will do about the NXT Championship, as well as Johnny Gargano as he hasn’t wrestled alone since being called up to the main roster.
