Fastlane had a couple of surprises that fans didn’t expect. One of them was Mustafa Ali being inserted into the WWE Title match between Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan.
According to Ringside News, this decision was made for a few reasons. Firstly, Vince McMahon didn’t want Kevin Owens to take the pinfall, so Mustafa was the one who got pinned in the match. Secondly, this was a way to build up Kofi Kingston’s inevitable match against Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania.
WWE had faith that with Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, and Mustafa Ali performing that the crowd would eventually turn around. That did happen in the end.
Things look good for Kofi Kingston right now. We will have to wait and see what happens as we get closer to Wrestlemania.
