Big Push Expected For Tag Team As Vince McMahon Reportedly Loves Them
WWE’s Tag Team Division has historically fallen to the wayside and pretty much been an afterthought.
Not much attention has been given to the division in the past, and really that hasn’t changed. Case in point.. the SmackDown Tag Title match at WrestleMania 35 on Sunday wasn’t announced until last night’s episode of SDLive with no prior build leading up to the company’s biggest event. At least the SmackDown Tag Titles are on the line at WrestleMania 35, as currently the RAW Tag Team Champions don’t even have a match on the card.
There is a chance however that could all change and some more focus might be placed on WWE’s Tag Team Division in the near future, as it seems as though Vince McMahon is big on some of his recent NXT main roster call-ups and a big push could be in store for the duo.
On this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, we saw former RAW Tag Champions Bobby Roode and Chad Gable lose their match against recent NXT call-ups Heavy Machinery. The match didn’t last long, roughly three minutes or so total, and was used as a tool to hype and promote the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35 this Sunday. Which all four men are participants of.
On a recent audio update via PWInsider Elite, Mike Johnson reports that Vince McMahon “loves Heavy Machinery.”
“Vince McMahon from what we hear loves Heavy Machinery. I would not be shocked to see them get a push going forward.”
Heavy Machinery have seen a decent amount of television time since their arrival to the main roster, as they have been used as “free agents” and not assigned to a specific brand, it has allowed the team to be featured regularly on both RAW and SmackDown LIVE. In theory if Vince is high on the two and really loves their work, you would expect them to be in line for a push which would lead to more TV time, thus giving the Tag Division more focus and attention as a result.
We will have to wait and see if Heavy Machinery will receive a push, but chances are pretty good seeing as though the only person whose voice/opinion matters in the long run is Vince McMahon’s.
