Original Plan For Randy Orton’s Wrestlemania Debut
When it comes down to it. Wrestlemania moments are more important and memorable than most any other show or events moments. You can debut anytime during the year, but what you do at Wrestlemania is what matters most.
Randy Orton is going into Wrestlemania 35 to face AJ Styles. The most recent episode of Smackdown Live! had Randy saying that he has been wrestling at Wrestlemania for almost 20 years. In all honesty it’s been 15 years. Rand’s first Wrestlemania match was at Wrestlemania 20, teaming with Ric Flair and Batista to take on Mick Foley and The Rock. That probably is the most star studded Wrestlemania debut of all time, but it could have been a lot different.
On Tommy Dreamers House of Hardcore Podcast, Tommy shared his first Wrestlemania experience at Wrestlemania 23 and how Dreamer’s first Wrestlemania match could have come years earlier.
My debut at Wrestlemania was supposed to be at, Wrestlemania Houston (Seventeen), which was supposed to be with The Dudley’s, Edge and Christian and The Hardy’s. That did not happen for me.
Then it was also supposed to be something with the Hardcore Division, which did not happen for me.
A proposed idea, which was supposed to happen. Originally it was supposed to be myself vs. Randy Orton vs. Scott Steiner and this was gonna be Orton’s debut Wrestlemania match. For the love of Torrie Wilson. I’ll get into that in another episode.
Tommy Dreamer
So, Randy Orton was going to wrestle Scott Steiner and Tommy Dreamer in a triple threat match for Torrie Wilson’s love. Once the episode where Tommy explains that story comes out, check back to Bodyslam.net for the transcription.
