Update On When WWE Decided Finish Of Universal Title Match At WrestleMania 35
WrestleMania 35 kicked off with the WWE Universal Title Match between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins. Rollins walked out of the match as the new Universal Champion, living up to his new moniker of “Beast Slayer”.
The WWE Universal Championship Match at WrestleMania 35 was discussed on the latest episode of the “Oh, You Didn’t Know” podcast, and Brad Shepard revealed exactly when WWE had decided the outcome and finish of the match.
Regarding the outcome of the WWE Universal Title match, Shepard wrote:
“Brock Lesnar… so Brock was dropping the title and that was the plan for at least a week in advance if not more. Seth’s going to be keeping the Beast Slayer moniker for a while I’m told.”
It was previously reported that the reason the Universal Title match opened the broadcast was because Brock Lesnar didn’t want to sit around and wait for Seven hours just to drop his belt in the “semi-main event”.
Instead Lesnar demanded to go on first, which WWE eventually agreed on, however the outcome and finish of the match had been decided well before.
