Update On When Goldust’s WWE Contract Expired
It was announced yesterday that Cody Rhodes will be wrestling his brother Dustin “Goldust” Rhodes at AEW’s first event Double or Nothing on May 25th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This officially marks the end of Goldust’s run with WWE, as he unveiled a new Dustin Rhodes logo yesterday just hours before it was revealed that he will be competing at Double or Nothing against his brother Cody.
Dustin Rhodes’ WWE contract was discussed on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, and it was mentioned that his contract with WWE just expired, which would mean that there is NOT a no-compete clause in play that would hinder him from appearing in Vegas at Double or Nothing.
Meltzer said:
“The thing is that Dustin’s contract expired just recently, I don’t know the day, but it may have been yesterday. That might be why nobody announced anything and then Conrad announced him for Starrcast as well.”
Looks like we will have some solid storytelling over the next month between the Rhodes brothers leading up to the big match at AEW’s Double or Nothing next month.
