NWA Women’s Champion Jazz Vacates Championship
The NWA Women’s championship has been around for almost 65 years. Many legends of the ring have held that title: Fabulous Moolah, MsChif, Amazing Kong and Jazz among others.
Jazz has been the most recent champion. She has wrestled for over 20 years. A force in the ring, Jazz has risen to the top of the card in every promotion she’s been in, ECW and WWE being the most prominent.
With the resurgence of the NWA, there has also been renewed interest in it’s champions. Until today, Jazz has been the NWA Women’s Champion for over 900 days. The third most amount of days as champion and second longest reign in the NWA’s history of the women’s championship.
That historic reign ended today with a post from Jazz on Twitter.
NWA’s Crocket Cup event is scheduled for this Saturday. The timing could not be worse for NWA and Jazz. NWA has posted a statement regarding the matter.
The decision has been made to have Allysin Kay aka Sienna wrestle an unnamed opponent for the Vacant NWA Women’s Championship.
It appears that NWA is leaving it up to the fans to decide.
We at Bodyslam hope Jazz is able to get through whatever is going on in her life, and continue on the path that is best for her.
