Kofi Kingston won the WWE Championship from Daniel Bryan back in Wrestlemania 35. However, Bryan suffered an injury and has been taking time off since then.
Kevin Owens turned heel on Kofi Kingston this past week on Smackdown Live and will challenge him for the WWE Title at Money In The Bank.
However, original plans for Owens was to present him as an “every man” babyface. That didn’t happen due to Bryan’s injury.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that KO was not slated to be turning heel this soon. Bryan was supposed to get a rematch for the WWE Title at Money In The Bank, but that didn’t happen.
We will have to wait and see what happens at Money In The Bank.
