Lio Rush Responds To Reports Of Heat On Him For Having His Wife Backstage
WWE Superstar Lio Rush has been a hot topic of conversation over the last week after new reports have been circulating regarding more backstage heat that is said to be on him.
It has been said that there is a lot of heat backstage on Rush currently after an incident between himself and Finn Balor stemming from Balor giving Rush advice about his wife’s presence during walk-through rehearsal.
Lio Rush has been very vocal over the last few days taking shots at wrestling websites for their reports on his situation, and he has now directly addressed the reports on twitter by answering a fan who inquired about the rumors.
Rush was asked, “Are you out of the locker room because of your connection with your wife or is it some other petty bullshit?” to which Lio responded by saying:
“I am not “out of the locker room.” More dirt sheet assumptions. Many spouses and family members come to shows and are welcome backstage. Our performance schedules are not just RAW, we have 3 live shows a week, travel days, and PPVs.
My wife came to share my first WrestleMania moment with me, as did many families of the WWE roster. The little time that a professional wrestler can spend with their family is rare and precious. I conduct myself professionally and respectfully and so does my wife.”
Rush was also accused of having heat on him backstage after refusing to follow “backstage etiquette” last November during WWE’s European tour. Rush was said to have “blew off” standard etiquette backstage for newer members of the roster, which included providing waters for other talents after matches and bringing water coolers to the hotel so that other members of the WWE roster can converse and socialize together in a common area.
Rush addressed these claims also, and did not deny the reports. Instead he made a statement about equality, and how he feels that he shouldn’t have to carry others bags or other tasks expected of newcomers.
There have also been reports that Rush’s time on the main roster is over and that he is expected to be sent back to NXT, although nothing has been confirmed one way or the other.
