WWE Planning Two Huge Names For SmackDown Live’s Move To FOX
WWE signed a massive deal last year that will see SmackDown Live move from the USA Network to the FOX Network in October.
WWE is planning to bring out their big guns when SmackDown debuts on FOX later this year, as it has been reported that two of the company’s biggest Superstars are set to appear. On the latest episode of the “Oh, You Didn’t Know” wrestling podcast Brad Shepard reports that WWE is expecting for John Cena and The Undertaker to both appear on the debut episode of SmackDown Live on FOX.
Regarding the premiere of SDLive on FOX, Shepard said:
“John Cena and The Undertaker are both expected to be on the debut episode of SmackDown Live on Fox. No surprise there they’re gonna pull out the big guns for Fox.”
While it isn’t shocking that WWE will be planning on doing whatever it takes to bring in huge ratings for SmackDown on FOX, we shouldn’t expect to see The Undertaker or Cena appearing weekly on the blue brand. It’s been said that at this point, FOX is considering SmackDown’s Friday night slot as a short-term plan or their main network.
We will have to wait and see how the ratings actually turn out for SmackDown Live’s move to FOX on Friday night, but historically speaking anytime that The Undertaker and/or John Cena are advertised it hasn’t hurt things at all.
